Texas Legislature missed opportunity

The 83rd Texas Legislature missed the opportunity to exercise bold, visionary leadership in reigning in the often predatory lawsuit lending industry. Countless stories exist of these lenders often taking advantage of legal consumers when they are at their most vulnerable. The state of Oklahoma recently passed the nation’s first lawsuit lending legislation, requiring lawsuit lenders to operate under the same regulations as other lenders in Oklahoma.
